Members shall act with integrity and honesty in all professional relationships. They shall not knowingly misrepresent cost data, optimization results, or financial forecasts.
Members shall maintain objectivity in professional judgment. They shall not allow bias, conflict of interest, or undue influence to override professional decisions.
Members shall maintain professional knowledge and skill to ensure competent service. They shall act diligently and in accordance with applicable standards.
Members shall respect the confidentiality of information acquired through professional relationships and shall not disclose such information without proper authority.
Members shall comply with relevant laws and regulations and shall avoid any action that discredits the profession.
Members shall deal fairly with clients, employers, and other practitioners. They shall not engage in deceptive practices or misrepresentation.
Members shall maintain independence from cloud service providers when providing cost optimization advice. Vendor relationships must be disclosed.
Members shall ensure that cost reports, forecasts, and allocations are accurate, complete, and presented in a manner that is not misleading.
Members shall handle financial and operational data responsibly, ensuring proper access controls, retention, and disposal practices.
Members shall commit to ongoing professional development to maintain competence in the evolving FinOps landscape.
Members shall support the development of the profession through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and community engagement.
Members who become aware of violations of this Code shall report them through appropriate channels. Failure to report known violations is itself a violation.
